Thanks for sharing so much, and thanks to Dennis. Richard White also posted a good description on the Lindblad Daily Expedition Reports for any who are interested. My students found this aspect of the trip, the security and piracy prevention just as fascinating as the lemurs! Perhaps the Somali pirates will be a future docmentary film?

So glad you were ok up to this email. Since we have not heard of the National Geographic Explorer being captured, I only hope that your trip was ok, abeit anxiety producing. I really enjoyed following you about. I learned a lot. Kent and Mel looked at my videos with the camera mask and they were very happy. I was worried since I was such a poor subject to try it out. This in no way comes up to your pictures but it is good for us amateurs. Good luck and enjoy the Mediterranean. Clare

I believe we need to know first hand what is happening in the Somalian waters.
I had no idea until the recent activities and heroics how volatile and dangerous the situation is for all shipmates. Recently I discovered that one of my good customers works on a cargo boat and often finds himself in Somalian waters for five months at a time. Now the story is more pertinent. Please keep posting Dennis’s journey. It is a journey many make.

I too hope to get many more reports (5 or 6) and know they made it safe to their next destination. My boys and I saw first hand the beginning work to deter the pirates and am surprised Dennis decided to go for it. My thoughts are with all the crew.
